The IELTS (International English Language Test System) test module is divided into two categories, namely IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. The test chosen must be based on the importance to be performed.
IELTS Academic - measures whether the level of English proficiency is appropriate for an academic environment. This reflects the academic language aspect and is usually required as a condition for continuing education to educational institutions abroad.
IELTS General Training - measures English proficiency in a practical, everyday context. Assignments and tests reflect workplace and social situations.
If you take the IELTS test to make a UK visa application to work, live or study in the UK, you will need to take the IELTS for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Academic or General Training or IELTS for Life Skills test.
